clothing cruise tips
Are you about to embark on one of our ships or are you thinking about going on a wonderful voyage soon?
To make sure that you have the best possible experience, we have put together some useful tips for what to wear during your cruise.
IDEAL CLOTHING FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES:
The most important thing is to be able to adapt to the season and the destination. We recommend that you wear relaxed, lightweight clothing that you can layer up so as to adapt to different temperatures.
Opt for flat shoes with anti-slip soles such as trainers or flexible mocassins. The ground at the sites you visit may be uneven and you may need to climb quite a few stairs. For your personal items, opt for a small backpack rather than a handbag.
Also remember to bring something to cover your shoulders and legs if any visits to religious sites planned.
IDEAL CLOTHING ONBOARD
For days spent onboard we recommend you wear comfortable, relaxed clothing.
As the ship is fully air-conditioned you may need a thin jumper, lightweight jacket or shawl.
Pour vos déplacements dans les espaces publics et sur les ponts du navire, privilégiez des chaussures légères mais confortables.
In the evening we recommend that you wear smart, casual clothing, in particular when dining in our restaurants where shorts and t-shirts are not permitted.
- A simple dress
- Skirt or trousers
- CBlouse or smock
- Polo shirt
- Darted trousers or chinos
- Sports jacket
- Polo shirt
On our cruises two gala dinners are organised onboard. As such we recommend that you bring one or two more formal outfits.
- Evening wear
- Long evening gown (not compulsory)
- Dark suit
- Tie advised, possibly a bow-tie
- Dinner jacket (not compulsory)
Depending on your cruise itinerary and programme, an Officers’ dinner on a white theme may be organised. Consequently, we would encourage you to bring white smart-casual wear for the occasion (failing that, black and white).
A laundry service is available onboard (laundry and ironing) but is unable to offer dry-cleaning. For safety reasons there is no iron in your cabin.
□ Swimming costume (pool or spa)
□ Gym clothes (fitness)
□ Hat – Cap
□ High-factor sun lotion
□ Medication and prescriptions
□ Mosquito repellent spray
□ Mobile charger
□ Battery charger and memory card for digital camera
In the bag that you will always have on you, don't forget to pack any medication you need and maybe some toiletries and a change of clothes (in the event of any delay in receiving your luggage from the airline company).
Take care to always have any travel documents you might need on you: hotel vouchers, cruise vouchers, return tickets...Never leave them in the luggage you check into the hold.
All of our cabins have a safe. We advise you not to take any valuable jewellery off the ship.
