The famous French champagne house Veuve Clicquot has combined its savoir-faire with that of PONANT to help the French art de vivre set sail all over the world. Thanks to this exclusive partnership, Veuve Clicquot champagnes are now available on board all the company’s ships.
LA MAISON LADUREE®
In 2015, PONANT partnered with Maison Ladurée to offer guests even more delicious treats. The famous pastel-coloured Ladurée macaroons in chocolate, caramel with fleur de sel, pistachio, Earl Grey and vanilla flavours are served at afternoon tea or as a special in-stateroom indulgence.
LE CERCLE POLAIRE®
For four years, PONANT has been actively supporting Le Cercle Polaire, a think tank working to preserve polar environments.
Created by French architect and Academician Jacques Rougerie, in collaboration with a full multi-disciplinary international team including oceanographer Jacques Piccard, astronaut Jean-Loup Chrétien and PONANT Captain Patrick Marchesseau, the SeaOrbiter® is a vertical vessel measuring 58 metres (21 metres above water and 37 metres submerged) that will explore the oceans and ocean beds. This international oceanic station, a world first, will be home to 18 crew members, including scientists. Its main missions will be to explore and analyse the marine universe, along with educating the public about its discoveries.
LE FABLAB D’UPERNAVIK®
The Upernavik FabLab was initiated by the EDANA research laboratory of the Haute Ecole Arc (University of Applied Science) in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, the Museum of Ethnography of Neuchâtel and Nicolas Dubreuil, Head of Expeditions at PONANT, with the aim of training artisans in the Inuit community in the reproduction of emblematic pieces which will be sold in European museums and on board the company’s ships. Faithful to its commitment to responsible tourism, PONANT contributes financially to the purchase of FabLab equipment and, for each edition of the travel booklet (electronic version), donates €10 to the association.
In January 2016, PONANT announced that it had joined forces with Ducasse Conseil, a catering centre of excellence run by Alain Ducasse Entreprise, continuing its route to excellence aboard our ships. From the conception of the culinary offering to the training of all the company’s Chefs, this long-term project aims to ensure that PONANT’s culinary standards are as high as possible and to satisfy the exacting requirements of our French and international guests.
