Lying off the coast of Queensland just south of the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser is the world’s largest sand island. Inscribed on the World Heritage List in 1992 for its outstanding natural universal values, Fraser Island is characterised by long uninterrupted white beaches, strikingly coloured sand cliffs, majestic tall rainforests and numerous crystal clear freshwater lakes. Called K'gari by its Aboriginal inhabitants, the island contains many sites of archaeological, social and spiritual significance dating back more than 5,000 years. After a short tender transfer ashore, Guests can enjoy a coach tour of Fraser Island taking in Lake McKenzie, the rainforest at Central Station and the giant stands of Satinay trees at Pile Valley.
