Located in the far north-east of Great Britain, the Scottish village of John O’Groats will enable you to discover preserved wild nature offering spectacular scenery carved out by erosion. Named in honour of Jan de Groot, the Dutchman who was behind the first ferry between mainland Scotland and Orkney, the site has breathtaking views over the impressive cliffs of this small sub-arctic archipelago, lying only a few kilometres away. The village of John O’Groats is also one of the maritime gateways to the Highlands region, famous for its stunning mountain landscapes, rugged coasts, mysterious lakes and many castles.
