To the east of the Kamchatka Peninsula, between the Bering Sea and the Pacific Ocean, the Russian Commander Islands form the western extremity of a volcanic arc with the Aleutian Islands in the centre. In the heart of a wild and unspoiled natural setting, you will discover magnificent volcanic landscapes including valleys, plateaux, plains and eroded mountains. A few arctic foxes live in these arid lands where lichen, moss and a few shrubs grow. Classed as a state nature reserve, the Commander Islands are home to a rich marine fauna composed of Steller sea lions, eared seals and other seals which you will have the possibility of observing.
