Palmerston Island

Cruises visiting Palmerston Island

You’ll call in on Palmerston Island, an enchanted island of the Cook Islands atoll. Its 60 inhabitants are all descendants of the Englishman William Marsters, who settled on the island with his three wives on 1863. It’s the easternmost island of the southern group of the Cook Islands, which owe their name to the very first European to have discovered the atoll, Captain James Cook, in 1774 during his second voyage to the South Pacific. As beautiful and majestic as it is isolated, Palmerston Island is bordered by a large and shallow lagoon. 11 km wide, it has an infinite palette of blues and is perfect for hiking and unforgettable snorkelling.
