In Indonesia’s east, Molana Island is a coral atoll in the Maluku province, in the heart of a group of spice-producing islands that attracted the Europeans in the early 16th century. Neighbouring the islands of Ambon, Haruku and Nusa Laut, it offers beaches with very fine, white sand that move according to the wind season. While it is currently uninhabited, it houses the ruins of a hospital built during the Dutch colonial period and destroyed during the Japanese occupation. You will be captivated by the beauty of its underwater world.
