Carrie Sowden
Carrie Sowden is the Director of Archaeology and Research at the National Museum of the Great Lakes. Her academic background is in Chemistry (BS- Emory University) and Anthropology - Nautical Archaeology (MA- Texas A&M University). Carrie was a leader on the team that created and built the National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo, Ohio in 2014. She has been working on the Great Lakes since 2004 in many shipwreck projects across Lake Erie as well as Lake Ontario and Lake Huron. Part of her focus is working with volunteers, teaching them the techniques and purpose behind the study of submerged cultural history in the Great Lakes.
