Emma Lavigne
Emma Lavigne is General Director and Chief Curator of the Pinault Collection.
An art historian, Emma Lavigne holds degrees in history, art history, and architecture from the Sorbonne and the École du Louvre. She has curated more than fifty exhibitions, both in France and abroad. She was curator at the Cité de la musique, then at the Musée national d’art moderne/Centre Pompidou, and was director of the Centre Pompidou-Metz before becoming president of the Palais de Tokyo in September 2019. Emma Lavigne replaced Jean-Jacques Aillagon as CEO of the Pinault Collection in November 2021.
Emma Lavigne will host three talks:
- Conversation with Edith Dekyndt: a discussion on the relationship between artists and the Pinault Collection.
- The Pinault Collection: presentation of one of the world’s most important contemporary art collections, from its curatorial vision to its exhibition venues.
- The Pinault Collection in Venice: focus on the exhibitions at Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana, which you will discover during a private visit, and their dialogue with the Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art.
Each lecture will be followed by a Q&A session.
