Jonathan Øverby, known as "Dr. Ø," a lyric baritone, conductor, and ethnomusicologist, holds multiple degrees, including a Doctorate in Education from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. Øverby, whose ethnicity aligns with his Norwegian heritage, has traveled and researched global roots music extensively abroad, including the traditional folk music of Scotland. The executive producer and host of the soon-to-be syndicated international world music broadcast, "The Road to Higher Ground," on NPR-Wisconsin Public Radio, he was inducted into the Folk Alliance International Hall of Fame in 2022. For more than 30 years, he has dedicated his life's work to performing, teaching, researching, and celebrating diverse genres of music.
