Born in Havana, Jorge Gonzalez Buajasan first studied piano in Cuba before entering the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris in the class of Hortense Cartier-Bresson. In 2015, Jorge won 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the KlavierOlymp competition in Bad Kissingen. In 2019, he was awarded the Prix Coup de Cœur de la Jeune Critique at the Clara Haskil Competition. In 2021, he won 1st Prize and 4 Special Prizes at the Lyon International Chamber Music Competition with violinist Manon Galy.
In 2015, he shared the stage at the Fondation Louis Vuitton with Boris Berezovsky. His distinctions at the KlavierOlymp in Bad Kissingen opened him doors to the Orchestre Philharmonique de Marseille conducted by Lawrence Foster as part of the Kissinger Sommer Festival. The same year, he gave several recitals at the Beethovenfest in Bonn, at Munich's prestigious Herkulessaal in a recital broadcast by Bayerische Rundfunk radio, and again in Munich alongside Elisabeth Leonskaja for the ‘Stars and Rising Stars’ Festival. Since then, he has been regularly invited to perform at La Roque d'Anthéron, where he gave the closing concert alongside Renaud Capuçon and the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne in 2022, as well as at the Folles Journées de Tokyo, the Festival Piano Jacobins, the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad, and at the Easter Festival alongside the Dutilleux Quartet
Jorge performed as soloist in Riga with the Latvian National Orchestra conducted by Vassily Sinaiski, with the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Stanislav Kochanovsky, with the Orchestre National de France conducted by Felix Mildenberger and with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra alongside Renaud Capuçon.
