Ideal clothes for life on board:
During the days spent on board, you are advised to wear comfortable clothes or casual outfits. The entire ship is air-conditioned, so a light sweater, a light jacket or a shawl may be necessary. When moving about in the public areas of the ship and the decks, light but comfortable shoes are recommended.
Informal evening:
In the evening, you are advised to wear smart-casual attire, especially when dining in our restaurants where wearing shorts and tee-shirts is not allowed.

This old Hanseatic city lies to the west coast of Gotland, a Swedish island in the Baltic sea. Pass through the spectacular Visby fortifications and visit the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You’ll discover the grand Visby homes of rich merchants as well as the lovely low wooden houses in the little cobbled streets. Don’t miss Saint Mary’s cathedral with its octagonal steeples, as well as Powder tower along the fortifications. Make sure you stop over in one of the rose-adorned cafés; indeed roses abound in this town where you can taste one of the island’s specialities, namely saffron pancakes with red fruit.

You can meander through its little streets in the heart of the medieval centre where its gothic town hall has been standing since 1404. The Kiek in de Kök tower, the Orthodox Alexander Nevski cathedral, or Toompea castle give visitors a taste of this town’s rich past. The city was particularly active during the medieval period, as is demonstrated by the very beautiful monuments from this period that are still visible. Day 1 – Helsinki
Meet at Helsinki Airport in the Arrival hall. Look for PONANT sign. You will be greeted by our local representative off the flight selected by PONANT or any other flight (provided that you have previously communicated your flight schedule to your travel agent).
You will be transferred to your hotel in the city center of Helsinki.
End of the day and dinner at leisure.
Day 2 – Helsinki
After breakfast and check-out, you will be transferred directly to the Kalkkiranta pier, where you will embark on board a steel boat (if the sea is clear) or a hovercraft (if there is ice).
After a 40-minute ride, you will reach a private island where you can experience a true feeling of winter and see what the archipelago looks like during colder months.
Your morning programme on the island includes a hike along a nature trail, as well as learning about cold water and survival skills in the water.
Then, a local buffet lunch will be served.
During the afternoon, a sauna experience will be possible. For guests who don’t want to do the sauna activity, they can just do the Jacuzzi if they wish to (showers available) or enjoy the calmness of the nature – the hosts are also on the island the whole time and the guests can hear about the archipelago living from them.
Transfer back to the mainland and drive to Helsinki.
You will then be transferred to the pier of Helsinki to embark on board your ship.

Day 1 – Helsinki
After disembarkation procedures are completed, you will be greeted at the port by our local representative.
You will be directly transferred to Nuuksio National Park (about 1 hour at drive).
Arriving in this natural setting, you will be welcomed by an experienced nature guide and lovable dogs. You will begin a lovely walk through the beautiful forests of the National Park, where you can observe nature, listen to stories and learn about the importance of forests for the Finns, husky dogs and their lives.
You will continue to the Haltia Nature Centre where lunch will be served. Haltia is a unique wooden building which also has an exhibition of Finnish nature.
After lunch, it will be time to see the reindeer! Nuuksio Reindeer Park is the southernmost place in Finland to see and feed reindeer. Learn about the life of reindeer and hear stories about these Arctic animals while enjoying a coffee by the open fire in a Kota teepee.

During the afternoon, sauna will be available.
Transfer back to Helsinki. Chek-in to your hotel in the city center (around 4 pm).

This charming vintage tram provides a cozy and unique way to see the city.
