Nordic skiing polar raid
Go on a polar ski raid
Meet under the midnight sun, to discover the authentic soul of the 'land of men', for a two-day polar ski raid and one night through the vast Arctic expanse.
Inuit wisdom
Every new journey starts with a meeting. This new experience in Greenland could not have been developed without once welcoming Olé Eliasson, an Inuit hunter, aboard the Commandant Charcot. The sharing of his knowledge of the ice floe was invaluable. His exchanges with the expedition team gave birth to the idea of offering passengers a unique moment off the ship, through the icy expanses, discovering the Inuit way of life and oneself.
To move away, to rise, to surpass
Appropriating the equipment, practicing safety exercises on the ice floe, getting ready for the big departure, letting yourself be enchanted by the song of an Inuit lullaby, taking turns at night under the midnight sun... Discover the intense emotions that await you in this story published in our magazine Escales.
At the edge of the Far North
"Le Commandant Charcot allows us to reach previously inaccessible lands, to go beyond, to leave the ship and explore the destination more deeply. To immerse ourselves even further in the local culture of the most isolated inhabitants of the Far North."
A pioneering ship
Le Commandant Charcot is the world's first high polar exploration vessel, electric hybrid powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas). As a scientific research vessel, it is also the only cruise ship in the world to welcome researchers on board, with dedicated workspaces for them.
