Nick Rains
Nick Rains has been a professional photographer for almost 40 years, starting off with yachting and other sports before specialising in travel and documentary work. His images have been published in book and magazines around the world and he is the author of 14 photography books. Besides his travel work, Nick is a consultant for Leica Camera AG in Germany and is also the Principal Instructor for Leica Akademie in Australia, teaching keen photographers how to create better images by taking small groups to far flung locations such as Cuba, Iceland, India, Greece, Myanmar, Namibia, Ethiopia, New Zealand and of course all over Australia.
Since 2015 Nick has travelled on many different Ponant expeditions around the globe, from the Russian Far East in the north to Antarctica in the south.

Ideal clothes for life on board:
During the days spent on board, you are advised to wear comfortable clothes or casual outfits. The entire ship is air-conditioned, so a light sweater, a light jacket or a shawl may be necessary. When moving about in the public areas of the ship and the decks, light but comfortable shoes are recommended.

Kayaking - Le Commandant Charcot
You will make the most of the sailing opportunities and weather and ice conditions to glide along on the clear waters or between the ice floes and get as close as possible to the immaculate nature of the poles. Supervised by licenced expert guides, you will try your hand in a kayak- a craft favoured by the Inuits for at least 4,000 years. The kayak was initially used for hunting and fishing; for you, it will be a means of making the most of your adventure on the White Continent or in the Far North.*

Beyond the Arctic Circle, you will discover Narvik, nestling in the heart of impressive mountains that plunge into the Ofotfjord. It is on the verge of obtaining the “sustainable destination” label, a national label awarded to destinations that are committed to a sustainable approach to tourism for the long term. You will be mesmerised by its scenery. From Narvik, it is possible to take the Ofoten Line towards Sweden. This historic railway once linked the mineral-rich mines of Kiruna in Sweden to the ice-free port of Narvik.

Are you attracted by the force of the elements, by the world’s end, by untamed landscapes? Welcome to the Lofoten Islands, an archipelago moored in the Norwegian Sea, beyond the Arctic Circle. Here, you will sail in majestic decors of alpine summits, sandy coves, sharp peaks emerging from the sea and deep-blue fjords rippling with fish. The small town of Leknes is on Vestvagoy Island. All around you are the jagged shapes of mountains, and bays that empty and fill with the tides. During this port of call, you will be able to hike or partake in other open-air activities to ensure that you really appreciate all the region’s natural treasures. You will set off to meet the Vikings at the Lofotr Viking Museum and reach the small fishing port of Henningsvær, which is picturesque and lively, with its cafés, art gallery and modern art museum.

Norwegians consider the small fishing port of Reine to be their country’s most beautiful village; it seems to have been naturally set in the heart of a bay encircled by craggy mountains. Very close by, Flakstad stands out thanks to its superb white sandy beach and bronze-coloured waters, and its red wooden onion-domed church emerging from the cliffs. Other villages are scattered along the roads; they follow the rhythm of skrei (cod) fishing, which helps the region prosper. Here, the seagulls absorb the silence on the roofs of the fishermen’s houses built on stilts. A few weeks later, these rorbuers are going to welcome thousands of people from all over Norway who will take part in the “miraculous fishing” that stretches from January to April every year, continuing an ancestral tradition that goes as far back as the Vikings.

Sitting on the Torget peninsula, surrounded by water and a myriad of islands, Brønnøysund invites you to the heart of a wild natural environment. This former Viking city nestled around a narrow harbour enjoys a strategic location and centralises fishing- and trade-related activities. The lively atmosphere that reigns around the marina contrasts with the tranquillity of the archipelago. At the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre, you will better understand the global success of Norwegian aquaculture and sample its excellent products. You will also have the chance to hike along the mythical granite dome of Torghatten, the pierced hat-shaped mountain, to admire the astonishing natural hole formed in the rock during the Ice Age. A few kilometres from Brønnøysund, in Tilrem, lies a still working, 250-year-old farm comprising a glorious herb garden, a shop selling items produced at the farm, and a family-run restaurant.

A natural paradise, Smøla is an island surrounded by an archipelago of thousands of small islands, islets and reefs, all bathed in an extraordinary light. The sheep freely graze the moorland. Ocean and fresh water meet, forming bays, ponds and pools of brackish water conducive to the development of a high biodiversity. In winter, the island serves as a refuge to numerous seabird species. One of these is the sea eagle, or white-tailed eagle – a protected species of which the densest population is found here. The island’s inhabitants subsist primarily on fishing and will share their culinary traditions with you by introducing you to some local products. If you are feeling adventurous, you can even try your hand at fishing in the crystal-clear waters or you can visit the island of Hitra.

In this wild fjord topped by high mountains with snow-covered peaks, the only road that remains open in winter is called Eagle Road. Leaving the village of Geiranger, it rises sharply to 625 metres (2,000 feet) above the fjord via 12 hairpin bends. The summit offers a magnificent panorama over the Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will able to hear the rumble of the Seven Sisters Waterfall, which tumbles down into the fjord in a cloud of foam. The road then continues up Mount Dalsnibba, which rises to an altitude of 1,475 metres (almost 5,000 feet). In this region, as you will learn at the Norwegian Fjord Centre, agriculture follows a tradition dating back to the Vikings. A farm in the vicinity has been run by the same family for 300 years. With several hundred goats, it is one of the largest summer farms in the country’s mountains.

Fall under the spell of Ålesund, which is crossed by the pretty Brosundet Canal and surrounded by a string of rocky islets, fjord inlets and majestic mountains. This large herring fishing port is especially reputed for its Art Nouveau architecture. Following the 1904 fire that reduced much of the city to ashes, German architects and artisans rebuilt it in stone and brick, creating a unique homogenous ensemble. You will find out more about it at the Art Nouveau Museum. You will then be able to take to the heights on Godøy Island and climb the Godøyfjellet Mountain to enjoy a magnificent panorama. The picturesque Alnes Lighthouse also offers spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean. The relief changes sharply on Giske Island, which is flat and fertile.

Nordfjordeid is a small town nestling at the end of an arm of the gigantic Nordfjord. Featuring valleys with abundant vegetation and mountainous terrain, nature here offers a 360-degree view that was conducive to the early settlement of Viking communities, as evidenced by the large number of tombs, some of the country’s largest and richest. You will be able to deepen your knowledge of Nordic culture and traditions at the Sagastad Viking Centre, a surprising museum with interactive exhibitions, also home to the Myklebust, one of the world’s largest Viking ships, measuring 30 metres (98 feet) in length. In addition to its stunning setting, the town is known for its many breeders of Norwegian farm horses, the Fjord horse, offering the opportunity for wonderful hikes in the surrounding area.

Nestled in the heart of the fjord country, less than 200 kilometres from Bergen, the picturesque village of Flåm – pronounced Flôm – offers you an experience of authentic Norway. You can mosey around the brightly coloured streets and admire the majestic contours of the surrounding mountains. The town is also the departure point for the mythical train route Flamsbana, 20 kilometres long, whose journey offers a superb view of the scenery, as sublime as it is pristine. This attraction makes Flåm one of the country’s main tourist destinations.

Aboard Le Commandant Charcot, you will sail in the Sognefjord. This stunning fjord extends approximately 200 kilometres (125 miles) inland, making it the longest in Europe. The Sognefjord is also the widest fjord in Norway, stretching across 4.5 kilometres (2.8 miles) on average. Its depth can range from 100 metres (328 feet) near its mouth to more than 1,300 metres (4,265 feet). You will see charming villages suspended on the mountainside or nestling along the banks, and admire the waterfalls and perfectly carved wild shores. Like the great rivers with multiples tributaries, the Sognefjord branches off into a large number of arms and fjords that you will be able to glimpse during this magnificent cruise.

The small and charming capital of the Shetland Islands, with its sea front of old houses and narrow streets, offering travellers its old districts and a warm port atmosphere. Geopark Shetland, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located to the north. Incredibly well-preserved archaeological sites and ruins prove that the islands’ occupation dates back to the first Neolithic colonies. The Shetland Museum and Archives recounts the Shetlands’ history of heritage and culture: Lerwick’s abundant waters were even fished by the Dutch in the past.

Located at the end of Byfjord, Bergen was the capital of Norway in the 12th and 13th Centuries and has preserved some very beautiful monuments from the time when it was home to royalty. Wandering through Bergen’s streets means going back in time, in search of the hidden treasures that have been listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. A veritable openair museum, Bergen is home to a thriving artistic community of painters, potters, jewellers. The Bergen cable car offers you a splendid panorama over the port and the surrounding fjords. Do not miss the visit to the old quarter with its narrow streets, a testimony of the power of the hanseatic League that controlled trade in Northern Europe at the end of the Middle Ages.
Journey to Polar Park
Travel across Norway’s scenic winter landscapes for a visit to the impressive Polar Park. Located at the 69° northern latitude, this reserve is the northernmost wildlife park in the world. The park is home to a large variety of Arctic mammals, including wolf, lynx, wolverine, mush oxen, elk, reindeer, mountain fox and badger.
From the pier, embark on a picturesque journey by coach from Narvik to the park. You will cross the 2,500-foot-long Rombak Bridge and continue along the Herjansfjord before heading inland through the birch tree forests of the Gratangs Valley.
At Polar Park, you will be able to walk along a 2½-mile-long asphalt path that will allow you to observe the animals in their enclosures. The living spaces are large—the park boasts the world’s biggest area-per-animal ratio—so be patient and keep watch for the inhabitants.
Then, you will enjoy a light lunch at the park before returning to your ship.

Depending on the temperatures and amount of snow that falls, the grounds may be slippery or even pure ice! This tour involves to walk uphill and downhill, on partly uneven grounds with gravel and maybe snow, depending on the weather. This excursion is very strenuous and requires to walk, at least, 1.2 mile (2 km). Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. Arctic railway
Arctic Train transports you 43 kilometres through a desolate, wild and beautiful landscape along the Ofot line. The line stretches from Narvik in Nordland to Kiruna in Sweden and is Norway's most northerly railway. From the ice-blue fjord in Narvik to the bare mountains in Sweden, there are several historical events that form a dramatic backdrop for this excursion.
The construction of the Ofotbanen started at the end of the 19th century to ensure access to an ice-free export port for the huge iron ore deposits from northern Sweden. Itinerant workers, so-called "rallers" sought their fortune in what was referred to as Europe's "Klondyke", and at most over 5,000 people were involved in the construction of the track. As an export route for Europe's largest and most important iron ore deposits, the route was particularly important to control during the Second World War.

WWII in Northern Norway
Gain an in-depth understanding of Narvik's role in World War II during a visit to the War Museum and city cemetery. An important year-round, ice-free harbor with railway links to the rich iron ore mines of nearby Sweden, this northern port city was strategically vital to both the Germans and the Allies during the early days of the conflict. This culminated in the Battle of Narvik in April 1940-and the five-year Nazi occupation of the city.
Take a short drive to the Narvik War Museum, where its curator will guide you through the collection of photos and artifacts. You will also see a short film that focuses on the local events of World War II, as well as the universal issues related to war.
After browsing the exhibits, make a solemn visit to the city's cemetery, the final resting spot for the 34 Commonwealth soldiers who died during the Narvik campaign, before returning to your ship.in.

Lofoten on horseback
Saddle up for a leisurely horseback ride through the beautiful landscape of northern Norway. Situated in the middle of the Lofoten archipelago, the island of Gimsoya is a stunning mix of mountains, jagged peaks, towering cliffs and white-sand beaches.
From the pier, embark your coach for a 45-minutes drive to a rural horse farm surrounded by white-sand beaches that dominate the island's west coast. Upon arrival, meet your instructor for a safety briefing and information on the trail itself. You will get an helmet and meet your steed before heading out.
During your one-hour and a half horseback adventure you will experience the beauty of the Lofoten, enjoying the horse contact and its natural heat. During your ride, you will pass several historical monuments from ancient times, including a pagan temple, Viking-era graves and the residence of a Viking chieftain from more than 1,000 years ago. This residence is believed to have been the home of Tore Hjort, a Norwegian chieftain from Vågen in Hålogaland who was killed by the famous King Olav Tyrggvason in the late 10th century.
At the conclusion of the trail ride, you will return to the stable, enjoy a coffee break, and depart for your ship.
- All participants will be asked to sign a waiver. Helmets are provided and must be worn. During winter season, you must wear warm-thermal, water- and wind-proof clothes and flat shoes with rubber soles or boots. Ground can be dirty or muddy that is why we recommend you wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Purses and other large or baggy items cannot be carried on the horse as they may restrict your ability to ride. Small cameras are fine to bring as long as they are not hung around your neck. Please ask your guide about the best way to carry your belongings. The trail ride will have one instructor for every four guests for a maximum participation of 14 passengers. This tour is conducted in English only. Children must be at least 12 years old and accompanied by an adult. Participants must weigh less than 110 kgs (243 lbs). Beginners are welcomed. This tour is not suitable for passengers with back problems or with limited physical abilities. This is a high activity tour that at times can be strenuous. Landscapes can be snow-covered during winter season, the lush green becoming totally white.

Charm of Lofoten
Spend a leisurely day learning about the maritime history of the Lofoten Islands. Discover the architecture of the fishermen's dwellings, which today serve as popular holiday homes for visitors who want to take part in the region's many outdoor activities.
From the pier, embark your coach for a 30-minute drive to Flakstad Bay to explore the charming 18th-century red church. It is the second oldest church in Lofoten and built in the shape of a cross.
Then, you will get back to your coach for a scenic drive to Å. This village is an open-air museum, representing the Lofoten's fisheries and displays 150 year old coastal building environments. Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch before being free to discover the village at your own pace.
In the afternoon, you will take the direction of Sund to visit the interesting Fishery Museum and Smithy. The museum was originally established in 1964, in the idea of a unique and lively museum, depicting the history of boats and fishing equipment. You will be able to take a closer look at the blacksmith at work, perhaps creating a cormorant, an important fishermen's symbol. Discover various objects including boats, utensils from fishermen's homes and working boat engines, from the beginning of this century.
Reboard the coach and return to Leknes.

Henningsvaer & Lofotr Museum
From the pier, board your coach and proceed to Henningsvær. You will discover the everyday life of one of the most picturesque fishing villages in the Lofoten Islands, with its backdrop of mountain peaks. Until 1962, when Lofoten fisheries were at their peak, more than 6,000 fishermen used this as their base from January to April. Because of the unique light and beauty of the surrounding nature, artists find inspiration with these islands.
Continue your visit with the Lofotens House Gallery, which have North Norway’s largest collection of paintings from around the turn of the last century, a period considered as the Golden age of North Norwegian art. Here you will find the works of well-known Norwegian artists, like Otto Sinding, Gunnar Bergen, Thorolf Holmbo, etc.
Then, proceed to Borg, and explore the Lofotr Viking Museum at Borg, the site of the ancient Viking farm that was discovered by a farmer plowing his land in the early 1980’s. You will even be able to visit the reconstructed Longhouse. It has been proven that the Lofoten Islands were a centre of power already at the time of the Vikings. You can get a very realistic impression of the living conditions in these bygone times.

Leknes by RIB boat
This excursion starts at the pier where you will be picked up and escorted to the RIB boat (a rigid-hulled inflatable buoyancy).
Your guide will give you winter equipment, both water and wind proof. Following a short introduction and briefing, you will sit astride a comfortable seat allowing everyone to enjoy the views. You will then start your exploration of the tranquil beauty of the Lofoten Islands in search of sea eagles.
As you set off with your experienced helmsman, you will whisk across the sparkling waters, to vertical cliffs rising from the water. You will pass the red fishing huts that line the water of small villages such as Ballstad, Mortsund, Steine and Ure. Then, you will enjoy a photo stop on the water, to observe sea eagles. Possessing a wing span of more than six feet (1.80 m), these birds of prey are an impressive sight. Fish will be used to attract them, to give you the chance to see one.
Afterwards you will return to the pier.

Torghatten walk
From the pier, board your local coach and enjoy your trip through the beautiful Brønnøysund before reaching your hiking spot.
Today's walk will take you to the top of Torghatten mountain. With the characteristic hole right through the mountain, this is one of the most recognizable and iconic places along the Norwegian coast. According to local legend, the mountain was once the hat of a sorcerer king, which he used to save a young sorceress from an arrow.
Spend around half an hour getting up the hilly path to where the hole starts. The hole is 35 metres high, 160 metres long, and between 15 and 20 metres wide - it is actually large enough for one of Hurtigruten's ships to pass through. Once you get up to the hole, you will be rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view of the islands off the Helgeland coast. You will take the same route down from the mountain, and finish with a bite to eat and something hot to drink.

After a sightseeing tour by bus around the cute town of Brønnøysund, enjoy impressive scenery as you cross the magnificent bridge to the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre in Toft.
Upon arrival, your guide will tell you all about salmon fishing culture in Norway. You will see the salmons and you will take part in feeding these fascinating creatures. You will also hear about the technology that contributes to growing salmon from egg to fish. There is even an opportunity to see the fish from up close with an underwater camera.
The Norwegian coast's cool and clear waters offer prime conditions for sustainable and responsible aquaculture. As a result, Norway is one of the world’s largest exporters of fish and seafood with around 37 million people around the globe enjoying the country’s produce.

After a short transfer to the city center, meet your local guide and start your exploration of Bronnoysund. Learn more about the town history.
During your walking tour, stop at he main office of the Trollfjell UNESCO Geopark where you can find rocks from the whole region. Here you will get an insight into the huge variety in the geology of this part of Norway. Discover also the Brønnøy Husflidslaget location, where locals meet every week to explore old handcraft.
Your walk will end at Brønnøy Church, called Sørbyen, where your guide will share stories about Bronnoysund history before a charming short local concert.

Explore Velfjord
From the pier, board your local coach to discover the idyllic place called Velfjorden. The area consisting of a few but ourishing rural communities, seven fjords and blue landscapes. During your ride, your guide will share old stories, tails and information about today’s modern life in Velfjorden.
On your way, stop to embark a local representative and pass through the local marble quarry. Learn more about this quarry and its history. Afterwards, reach the open-air museum in Hommelsto Velfjord where you will discover a traditional Norwegian recreational cabin – a Hytte. Visit this authentic cabin with your guide and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Then, taste the local char, the most tasteful of the salmon family, produced with water from a mountain lake before returning to your coach.
On your way back to the pier, stop at the oldest wooden church in Northern Norway, the Nøstvik Kirke.

The Geirangerfjord is without doubt one of the most beautiful of the Norwegian fjords. Giske & Godoy islands
From the pier, you will start the tour with a short panoramic city tour through the Art Nouveau district of Alesund. The city's architectural character is in fact the result of a catastrophe - the great fire in 1904 and those young architects who participated in the rebuilding of the city were inspired by the Art Nouveau style.
Then you will drive up to Mount Aksla from where you have a beautiful view of the city, the islands and the Sunnmore Mountains.
Leaving the city you will drive through some of the world's largest undersea tunnels connecting the islands with the mainland. Today the approximately 6,300 inhabitants have a 'ferry-free connection' with the rest of Norway. To reach the islands you must traverse bridges and undersea tunnels, the longest being 2.5 miles. Reach Giske Island, which had a unique position during the Viking period.
The famous Gange - Rolv, or Rollo, was born on Giske. This great warrior conquered Normandie in 911 and became the ancestor of William the Conqueror, sire to the English Royal Family. The old marble church at Giske was built as a family chapel for one of most powerful families. The church is built in the Norman style and is a typical product of the architecture prior to 1200. In 1756 the church was restored. The local artist Jacob S. Giskegaard created the new interior including a new pulpit, and a new alter piece.
Continue your visit proceeding to Godoy Island and Alnes village located on the seaside. You will see a typical fishing village with a well-preserved and picturesque architecture. Its main attraction is its lighthouse. You will get the opportunity to climb up its stairs (87 steps) to enjoy a beautiful look-out to the Atlantic Ocean and the surroundings islands.
After this visit, you will return to your ship.

City walk & Art Nouveau museum
Ã…lesund, the largest town on the northwest coast of Norway, has a spectacular setting: stretching over three islands, near the ocean and backdropped by impressive mountain-peaks. The town centre was destroyed by a fire in 1904, but rebuilt shortly after in the characteristic Art Nouveau architectural style of the period. Today Ã…lesund has a population of approximately 40,000, but the town centre is relatively small and easy to cover on foot.
From the pier, you will start on foot with a visit to the Art Nouveau museum, located in the old pharmacy building. The museum provides interesting insight into the fire of 1904 and the creative Art Nouveau period.
After your visit, you will continue your walking tour. Your guide will put particular emphasis on presenting the importance of fisheries in Norway's biggest fish export harbour and, of course, you will be shown a multitude of examples of the picturesque Art Nouveau style that has made Ã…lesund famous.
The tour will continue uphill to the quaint little park at the foot of mount Aksla. Here, you will find exotic trees and plants as well as a memorial stone dedicated to the German emperor Wilhelm II, for whom the main street in town is named after. Furthermore, you will see the statue of the Viking "Gange-Rolf" who sailed from Ã…lesund to what is today Normandy (France), named after the Norwegian settlers. From the park, you could choose to continue to ascend mount Aksla, where your will be rewarded for your efforts with a spectacular view. Or you could wander about in the park or just sit and have a rest before the return to the pier and your ship.

Alesund by e-bike
Don your helmet, hop on your e-bike, and set off to discover hand-picked highlights in this enchanting city!
E-biking is just like traditional cycling, but with less pedaling thanks to the bike’s electric motor. After a full briefing, your guide will lead the way as you cruise into the streets. Glide around the heart of colorful Alesund, which is renowned for its unique Art Nouveau style. Hear the story of the fire that destroyed the town in 1904 and admire the intricate façades of the buildings that rose from the ashes, embellished with dragons and flowers, and crowned by a forest of spires and turrets. Make the most of your bike’s motor and head up to a viewpoint on Mount Aksla. From here, soak up a breathtaking vista spanning Ålesund, the surrounding mountains, the sparkling fjords, and the distant Sunnmore Alps.

Nordfjordeid walk & Sagastad
From the pier, meet your local guide and start your walking exploration.
Walk past Malakoff, the old military camp which is now used to host an annual rock festival for the past 20 years for up to thirty thousand people. Pass several memory stones where the locals pay their respect to the soldiers who died in the different wars. Especially the statue «Sørgande Mor», by Dyre Vaa, the grieving mother, depicting the mothers` loss due to a war.
Continue and discover other sites of interest during your stroll such as the old wooden houses with green gardens in between, the church of Eid, the Opera House. While on the walk, you will be treated with a local cinnamon bun and a cup of coffee or tea.
Then, reach Sagastad and the Myklebust Viking Ship, Norway’s largest viking ship that had ever been found has been reconstructed. The ship is exhibited in the Sagastad Visitor Centre where the ship was found. There is a digital and a physical exhibition about the Vikings, the findings and boat building traditions.

Panoramic Nordfjordeid
This excursion rewards you with superb views of the Nordfjord, the fifth longest fjord in Norway and Hornindal Lake, the deepest lake in Northern Europe.
From the pier, board your local coach and start your scenic drive. Head towards the viewpoints Kvalen & Nos viewpoint where you have a magnificent view from above 500 meters over sea level into the Nordfjord region.
After short photo stops, your journey continues along the fjord. Once we have almost reached the end of the Nordfjord, we turn left and inland towards Lake Hornidal. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains we enjoy that panorama along the lake back towards Nordfjordeid.

Vatnahalsen railway
Your tour begins in Flam, a small village on the Aurlandsfjord. From the pier, you will walk to the railway station located next to the port.
The Flam Railway line winds its way up the steep and narrow Flam Valley. Travel along the Flam river, one of the best salmon rivers in the West Country. On the right hand side you will have the opportunity to see the Rjoande Waterfall and the impressive peak of Vibmesnosi. After passing through the longest tunnel at Naali, a most fantastic sight is revealed. To climb the 300 m high Myrdalsberg the line is built on 4 levels. From here you can observe 3 of them, the train standing on the fourth. Then, make a brief stop to admire the Kjosfossen Waterfall.
On arrival in Vatnahalsen, refreshments will be served at the Hotel Vatnahalsen, a well-known ski resort, very popular in summer and autumn when locals come to hike or bike along the old road.
After the break, enjoy the return journey on the same railway line to Flam.

The Flam Railway
The village of Flam is nestled at the end of beautiful Aurlandsfjord, where you will walk from the pier to board the famed Flam Railway, named by Lonely Planet Traveler "the world's best train ride". It is one of the most interesting stretches of railroad engineering in the world: only 12 miles long, it runs from Flam, at sea level, to Myrdal Station, at an altitude of 2,850 feet, featuring tunnels and switchbacks and ever-changing views of waterfalls, the valley below, and snow-capped mountains
From the station, you travel along the Flam River, one of the best salmon-rivers in the West Country. Landmarks you pass include the Rjoande Waterfall, with a sheer drop, and the impressive peak of Vibmesnosi, rising to just over 4,000 feet. After passing through the railway's longest tunnel at Naali, you are able to look back and see three of the four levels of the train bed that have brought you this far. You will also be able to see the old navy road that was constructed in 1895-96 to support the building of the Bergen-Oslo Railroad, opened in 1909. The road climbs the steep hills in 21 narrow hairpin bends next to a waterfall.
The train will make a brief stop at Kjosfossen Waterfall, where all passengers disembark in order to photograph this spectacular 300-foot-high waterfall. When the train reaches Myrdal, remain on board for the equally spectacular journey back to Flam.

Discover Lerwick
Enjoy a walking tour to get to know the capital of Shetland, Lerwick.
You will walk into the town centre pass landmarks such as the Market Cross and the Tolbooth (headquarters for the lifeboar station). Learn about island life while you continue along the cobbled streets to the Town Hall which features a series of stained glass windows depicting the history of Shetland. In the centre of the town you will visit Fort Charlotte, built by Charles II in 1665 and used as a jail and courthouse since then.

Mount Floyen hike
Your tour starts at the pier where you will meet your guide and walk to Fløibanen station.
From the lower station of Fløibanen, the ride takes approximately 8 minutes to the top of Mount Fløien at some 1,000 feet (320 m). On the way up, you can enjoy a magnificent view of Bergen and surroundings. Fløien hills are a very popular recreation area used by the locals all the year round.
The hiking tour starts on one of the many gravel roads, through slightly hilly woodland to the little, idyllic lake called Skomakerdiket, then uphill to join the main path, Blåmansveien. As you get higher, the view gets better! The fjord with a multitude of islands lies beneath you as well as the town, and far out to the West the North Sea.
Head up the Rundemansvegroad and, as you leave the trees behind, there is a wide view to all sides when reaching the highest point, Rundemanen, at some 1,800 feet.
After a well-deserved break, you will return to the Funicular station for the ride back, and join your ship after a 15-minute walk back.

Bryggen walking tour
Bergen is a city full of contrasts, a mixture of new and old side by side. This walking tour takes you along the Bergenhus fortress dating back to the Middle Ages with the old coronation hall and the tower of Rosenkranz.
Shortly after, reach Bryggen, a city composed of old Hanseatic merchant buildings which had been damaged in 1702, when a disastrous fire struck the area. After the fire, they were rebuilt to look as they had during the Middle Ages. The whole area is now protected and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guided tour will lead you up one of the narrow alleyways running between the rows of houses. Today, artists and craftsmen have moved in, and facing the harbour are restaurants and shops of various kinds. The Hanseates settled in Bergen in the middle of the 14th century. They had the monopoly on the trade with Northern Norway for nearly 300 years that was a barter trade: the Norwegians from the North part of the country brought their stock fish, dried cod, to Bergen and went back with grain, spices, textiles etc.
Discover St Mary's church from outside, the oldest stone building in town. In former days, it was called "the German church" because it was solely used by the Hanseatic merchants who have adorned the church over the centuries with several precious objects.
Thereafter, walk on to Schötstuene, a series of assembly rooms. The Schötstuene complex is comprised of four assembly rooms and two cookhouses, where the food was prepared and social life went on. You should not miss a visit to the kitchen, neither to the living quarters in the back!
Before returning to the harbour, you will visit the Bryggen museum, an archeological museum housing findings from the Middle Ages.

Mount Ulriken & Fantoft Stave Church
From the pier, board your local coach for a short drive to Ulriken cable car entrance.
From here, enjoy a five-minute ascent to the top of Mount Ulriken. The city of Bergen is proud of its cable car system, which ascends over 2,100 feet above the sea level in only few minutes. Its highest point is above the tree line, affording a 360-degree view. The view is breathtaking. On the top, refreshments and snacks are served while your guide give you a short brief. Then, you are free to go for a short hike, to take time for contemplation and photographs.
After descending back, get back to your local coach for a short transfer through the city, on the way to the new Fantoft Stave Church, rebuilt after the fire in 1992 that destroyed the old church from 1150. The new church is constructed exactly like the ones that were built in the Middle Ages, using timber from the Sognefjord area north of Bergen. Only 30 of these very typical churches remain nowadays in Norway, when they were at least 800 in the Middle Ages.
On your way back to the pier, enjoy a short city sightseeing.

Travel across Norway’s scenic winter landscapes for a visit to the impressive Polar Park. Located at the 69° northern latitude, this reserve is the northernmost wildlife park in the world. The park is home to a large variety of Arctic mammals, including wolf, lynx, wolverine, mush oxen, elk, reindeer, mountain fox and badger.
From the pier, embark on a picturesque journey by coach from Narvik to the park. You will cross the 2,500-foot-long Rombak Bridge and continue along the Herjansfjord before heading inland through the birch tree forests of the Gratangs Valley.
At Polar Park, you will be able to walk along a 2½-mile-long asphalt path that will allow you to observe the animals in their enclosures. The living spaces are large—the park boasts the world’s biggest area-per-animal ratio—so be patient and keep watch for the inhabitants.
Then, you will enjoy a light lunch at the park before returning to your ship.

Arctic railway
Arctic Train transports you 43 kilometres through a desolate, wild and beautiful landscape along the Ofot line. The line stretches from Narvik in Nordland to Kiruna in Sweden and is Norway's most northerly railway. From the ice-blue fjord in Narvik to the bare mountains in Sweden, there are several historical events that form a dramatic backdrop for this excursion.
The construction of the Ofotbanen started at the end of the 19th century to ensure access to an ice-free export port for the huge iron ore deposits from northern Sweden. Itinerant workers, so-called "rallers" sought their fortune in what was referred to as Europe's "Klondyke", and at most over 5,000 people were involved in the construction of the track. As an export route for Europe's largest and most important iron ore deposits, the route was particularly important to control during the Second World War.

WWII in Northern Norway
Gain an in-depth understanding of Narvik's role in World War II during a visit to the War Museum and city cemetery. An important year-round, ice-free harbor with railway links to the rich iron ore mines of nearby Sweden, this northern port city was strategically vital to both the Germans and the Allies during the early days of the conflict. This culminated in the Battle of Narvik in April 1940-and the five-year Nazi occupation of the city.
Take a short drive to the Narvik War Museum, where its curator will guide you through the collection of photos and artifacts. You will also see a short film that focuses on the local events of World War II, as well as the universal issues related to war.
After browsing the exhibits, make a solemn visit to the city's cemetery, the final resting spot for the 34 Commonwealth soldiers who died during the Narvik campaign, before returning to your ship.in.

Lofoten on horseback
Saddle up for a leisurely horseback ride through the beautiful landscape of northern Norway. Situated in the middle of the Lofoten archipelago, the island of Gimsoya is a stunning mix of mountains, jagged peaks, towering cliffs and white-sand beaches.
From the pier, embark your coach for a 45-minutes drive to a rural horse farm surrounded by white-sand beaches that dominate the island's west coast. Upon arrival, meet your instructor for a safety briefing and information on the trail itself. You will get an helmet and meet your steed before heading out.
During your one-hour and a half horseback adventure you will experience the beauty of the Lofoten, enjoying the horse contact and its natural heat. During your ride, you will pass several historical monuments from ancient times, including a pagan temple, Viking-era graves and the residence of a Viking chieftain from more than 1,000 years ago. This residence is believed to have been the home of Tore Hjort, a Norwegian chieftain from Vågen in Hålogaland who was killed by the famous King Olav Tyrggvason in the late 10th century.
At the conclusion of the trail ride, you will return to the stable, enjoy a coffee break, and depart for your ship.

During winter season, you must wear warm-thermal, water- and wind-proof clothes and flat shoes with rubber soles or boots. Ground can be dirty or muddy that is why we recommend you wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Purses and other large or baggy items cannot be carried on the horse as they may restrict your ability to ride. Small cameras are fine to bring as long as they are not hung around your neck. Charm of Lofoten
Spend a leisurely day learning about the maritime history of the Lofoten Islands. Discover the architecture of the fishermen's dwellings, which today serve as popular holiday homes for visitors who want to take part in the region's many outdoor activities.
From the pier, embark your coach for a 30-minute drive to Flakstad Bay to explore the charming 18th-century red church. It is the second oldest church in Lofoten and built in the shape of a cross.
Then, you will get back to your coach for a scenic drive to Å. This village is an open-air museum, representing the Lofoten's fisheries and displays 150 year old coastal building environments. Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch before being free to discover the village at your own pace.
In the afternoon, you will take the direction of Sund to visit the interesting Fishery Museum and Smithy. The museum was originally established in 1964, in the idea of a unique and lively museum, depicting the history of boats and fishing equipment. You will be able to take a closer look at the blacksmith at work, perhaps creating a cormorant, an important fishermen's symbol. Discover various objects including boats, utensils from fishermen's homes and working boat engines, from the beginning of this century.

Henningsvaer & Lofotr Museum
From the pier, board your coach and proceed to Henningsvær. You will discover the everyday life of one of the most picturesque fishing villages in the Lofoten Islands, with its backdrop of mountain peaks. Until 1962, when Lofoten fisheries were at their peak, more than 6,000 fishermen used this as their base from January to April. Because of the unique light and beauty of the surrounding nature, artists find inspiration with these islands.
Continue your visit with the Lofotens House Gallery, which have North Norway’s largest collection of paintings from around the turn of the last century, a period considered as the Golden age of North Norwegian art. Here you will find the works of well-known Norwegian artists, like Otto Sinding, Gunnar Bergen, Thorolf Holmbo, etc.
Then, proceed to Borg, and explore the Lofotr Viking Museum at Borg, the site of the ancient Viking farm that was discovered by a farmer plowing his land in the early 1980’s. You will even be able to visit the reconstructed Longhouse. It has been proven that the Lofoten Islands were a centre of power already at the time of the Vikings. You can get a very realistic impression of the living conditions in these bygone times.

Leknes by RIB boat
This excursion starts at the pier where you will be picked up and escorted to the RIB boat (a rigid-hulled inflatable buoyancy).
Your guide will give you winter equipment, both water and wind proof. Following a short introduction and briefing, you will sit astride a comfortable seat allowing everyone to enjoy the views. You will then start your exploration of the tranquil beauty of the Lofoten Islands in search of sea eagles.
As you set off with your experienced helmsman, you will whisk across the sparkling waters, to vertical cliffs rising from the water. You will pass the red fishing huts that line the water of small villages such as Ballstad, Mortsund, Steine and Ure. Then, you will enjoy a photo stop on the water, to observe sea eagles. Possessing a wing span of more than six feet (1.80 m), these birds of prey are an impressive sight. Fish will be used to attract them, to give you the chance to see one.
Afterwards you will return to the pier.

Torghatten walk
From the pier, board your local coach and enjoy your trip through the beautiful Brønnøysund before reaching your hiking spot.
Today's walk will take you to the top of Torghatten mountain. With the characteristic hole right through the mountain, this is one of the most recognizable and iconic places along the Norwegian coast. According to local legend, the mountain was once the hat of a sorcerer king, which he used to save a young sorceress from an arrow.
Spend around half an hour getting up the hilly path to where the hole starts. The hole is 35 metres high, 160 metres long, and between 15 and 20 metres wide - it is actually large enough for one of Hurtigruten's ships to pass through. Once you get up to the hole, you will be rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view of the islands off the Helgeland coast. You will take the same route down from the mountain, and finish with a bite to eat and something hot to drink.

Norwegian aquaculture & tasting
After a sightseeing tour by bus around the cute town of Brønnøysund, enjoy impressive scenery as you cross the magnificent bridge to the Norwegian Aquaculture Centre in Toft.
Upon arrival, your guide will tell you all about salmon fishing culture in Norway. You will see the salmons and you will take part in feeding these fascinating creatures. You will also hear about the technology that contributes to growing salmon from egg to fish. There is even an opportunity to see the fish from up close with an underwater camera.

After a short transfer to the city center, meet your local guide and start your exploration of Bronnoysund. Learn more about the town history.
During your walking tour, stop at he main office of the Trollfjell UNESCO Geopark where you can find rocks from the whole region. Explore Velfjord
From the pier, board your local coach to discover the idyllic place called Velfjorden. The area consisting of a few but ourishing rural communities, seven fjords and blue landscapes. During your ride, your guide will share old stories, tails and information about today’s modern life in Velfjorden.
On your way, stop to embark a local representative and pass through the local marble quarry. Learn more about this quarry and its history. Afterwards, reach the open-air museum in Hommelsto Velfjord where you will discover a traditional Norwegian recreational cabin – a Hytte. Visit this authentic cabin with your guide and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Then, taste the local char, the most tasteful of the salmon family, produced with water from a mountain lake before returning to your coach.
On your way back to the pier, stop at the oldest wooden church in Northern Norway, the Nøstvik Kirke.

The Geirangerfjord is without doubt one of the most beautiful of the Norwegian fjords. Giske & Godoy islands
From the pier, you will start the tour with a short panoramic city tour through the Art Nouveau district of Alesund. The city's architectural character is in fact the result of a catastrophe - the great fire in 1904 and those young architects who participated in the rebuilding of the city were inspired by the Art Nouveau style.
Then you will drive up to Mount Aksla from where you have a beautiful view of the city, the islands and the Sunnmore Mountains.
Leaving the city you will drive through some of the world's largest undersea tunnels connecting the islands with the mainland. Today the approximately 6,300 inhabitants have a 'ferry-free connection' with the rest of Norway. To reach the islands you must traverse bridges and undersea tunnels, the longest being 2.5 miles. Reach Giske Island, which had a unique position during the Viking period.
The famous Gange - Rolv, or Rollo, was born on Giske. This great warrior conquered Normandie in 911 and became the ancestor of William the Conqueror, sire to the English Royal Family. The old marble church at Giske was built as a family chapel for one of most powerful families. The church is built in the Norman style and is a typical product of the architecture prior to 1200. In 1756 the church was restored. The local artist Jacob S. Giskegaard created the new interior including a new pulpit, and a new alter piece.
Continue your visit proceeding to Godoy Island and Alnes village located on the seaside. You will see a typical fishing village with a well-preserved and picturesque architecture. Its main attraction is its lighthouse. You will get the opportunity to climb up its stairs (87 steps) to enjoy a beautiful look-out to the Atlantic Ocean and the surroundings islands.
After this visit, you will return to your ship.

City walk & Art Nouveau museum
Ã…lesund, the largest town on the northwest coast of Norway, has a spectacular setting: stretching over three islands, near the ocean and backdropped by impressive mountain-peaks. The town centre was destroyed by a fire in 1904, but rebuilt shortly after in the characteristic Art Nouveau architectural style of the period. Today Ã…lesund has a population of approximately 40,000, but the town centre is relatively small and easy to cover on foot.
From the pier, you will start on foot with a visit to the Art Nouveau museum, located in the old pharmacy building. The museum provides interesting insight into the fire of 1904 and the creative Art Nouveau period.
After your visit, you will continue your walking tour. Your guide will put particular emphasis on presenting the importance of fisheries in Norway's biggest fish export harbour and, of course, you will be shown a multitude of examples of the picturesque Art Nouveau style that has made Ã…lesund famous.
The tour will continue uphill to the quaint little park at the foot of mount Aksla. Here, you will find exotic trees and plants as well as a memorial stone dedicated to the German emperor Wilhelm II, for whom the main street in town is named after. Furthermore, you will see the statue of the Viking "Gange-Rolf" who sailed from Ã…lesund to what is today Normandy (France), named after the Norwegian settlers. From the park, you could choose to continue to ascend mount Aksla, where your will be rewarded for your efforts with a spectacular view. Or you could wander about in the park or just sit and have a rest before the return to the pier and your ship.

Alesund by e-bike
Don your helmet, hop on your e-bike, and set off to discover hand-picked highlights in this enchanting city!
E-biking is just like traditional cycling, but with less pedaling thanks to the bike’s electric motor. After a full briefing, your guide will lead the way as you cruise into the streets. Glide around the heart of colorful Alesund, which is renowned for its unique Art Nouveau style. Hear the story of the fire that destroyed the town in 1904 and admire the intricate façades of the buildings that rose from the ashes, embellished with dragons and flowers, and crowned by a forest of spires and turrets. Make the most of your bike’s motor and head up to a viewpoint on Mount Aksla. From here, soak up a breathtaking vista spanning Ålesund, the surrounding mountains, the sparkling fjords, and the distant Sunnmore Alps.

Nordfjordeid walk & Sagastad
From the pier, meet your local guide and start your walking exploration.
Walk past Malakoff, the old military camp which is now used to host an annual rock festival for the past 20 years for up to thirty thousand people. Pass several memory stones where the locals pay their respect to the soldiers who died in the different wars. Especially the statue «Sørgande Mor», by Dyre Vaa, the grieving mother, depicting the mothers` loss due to a war.
Continue and discover other sites of interest during your stroll such as the old wooden houses with green gardens in between, the church of Eid, the Opera House. While on the walk, you will be treated with a local cinnamon bun and a cup of coffee or tea.
Then, reach Sagastad and the Myklebust Viking Ship, Norway’s largest viking ship that had ever been found has been reconstructed. The ship is exhibited in the Sagastad Visitor Centre where the ship was found. There is a digital and a physical exhibition about the Vikings, the findings and boat building traditions.

Panoramic Nordfjordeid
This excursion rewards you with superb views of the Nordfjord, the fifth longest fjord in Norway and Hornindal Lake, the deepest lake in Northern Europe.
From the pier, board your local coach and start your scenic drive. Head towards the viewpoints Kvalen & Nos viewpoint where you have a magnificent view from above 500 meters over sea level into the Nordfjord region.
After short photo stops, your journey continues along the fjord. Once we have almost reached the end of the Nordfjord, we turn left and inland towards Lake Hornidal. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains we enjoy that panorama along the lake back towards Nordfjordeid.

Vatnahalsen railway
Your tour begins in Flam, a small village on the Aurlandsfjord. From the pier, you will walk to the railway station located next to the port.
The Flam Railway line winds its way up the steep and narrow Flam Valley. Travel along the Flam river, one of the best salmon rivers in the West Country. On the right hand side you will have the opportunity to see the Rjoande Waterfall and the impressive peak of Vibmesnosi. After passing through the longest tunnel at Naali, a most fantastic sight is revealed. To climb the 300 m high Myrdalsberg the line is built on 4 levels. From here you can observe 3 of them, the train standing on the fourth. Then, make a brief stop to admire the Kjosfossen Waterfall.
On arrival in Vatnahalsen, refreshments will be served at the Hotel Vatnahalsen, a well-known ski resort, very popular in summer and autumn when locals come to hike or bike along the old road.
After the break, enjoy the return journey on the same railway line to Flam.

The Flam Railway
The village of Flam is nestled at the end of beautiful Aurlandsfjord, where you will walk from the pier to board the famed Flam Railway, named by Lonely Planet Traveler "the world's best train ride". It is one of the most interesting stretches of railroad engineering in the world: only 12 miles long, it runs from Flam, at sea level, to Myrdal Station, at an altitude of 2,850 feet, featuring tunnels and switchbacks and ever-changing views of waterfalls, the valley below, and snow-capped mountains
From the station, you travel along the Flam River, one of the best salmon-rivers in the West Country. Landmarks you pass include the Rjoande Waterfall, with a sheer drop, and the impressive peak of Vibmesnosi, rising to just over 4,000 feet. After passing through the railway's longest tunnel at Naali, you are able to look back and see three of the four levels of the train bed that have brought you this far. You will also be able to see the old navy road that was constructed in 1895-96 to support the building of the Bergen-Oslo Railroad, opened in 1909. The road climbs the steep hills in 21 narrow hairpin bends next to a waterfall.
The train will make a brief stop at Kjosfossen Waterfall, where all passengers disembark in order to photograph this spectacular 300-foot-high waterfall. When the train reaches Myrdal, remain on board for the equally spectacular journey back to Flam.

Discover Lerwick
Enjoy a walking tour to get to know the capital of Shetland, Lerwick.
You will walk into the town centre pass landmarks such as the Market Cross and the Tolbooth (headquarters for the lifeboar station). Learn about island life while you continue along the cobbled streets to the Town Hall which features a series of stained glass windows depicting the history of Shetland. In the centre of the town you will visit Fort Charlotte, built by Charles II in 1665 and used as a jail and courthouse since then.

Mount Floyen hike
Your tour starts at the pier where you will meet your guide and walk to Fløibanen station.
From the lower station of Fløibanen, the ride takes approximately 8 minutes to the top of Mount Fløien at some 1,000 feet (320 m). On the way up, you can enjoy a magnificent view of Bergen and surroundings. Fløien hills are a very popular recreation area used by the locals all the year round.
The hiking tour starts on one of the many gravel roads, through slightly hilly woodland to the little, idyllic lake called Skomakerdiket, then uphill to join the main path, Blåmansveien. As you get higher, the view gets better! The fjord with a multitude of islands lies beneath you as well as the town, and far out to the West the North Sea.
Head up the Rundemansvegroad and, as you leave the trees behind, there is a wide view to all sides when reaching the highest point, Rundemanen, at some 1,800 feet.
After a well-deserved break, you will return to the Funicular station for the ride back, and join your ship after a 15-minute walk back.

Bryggen walking tour
Bergen is a city full of contrasts, a mixture of new and old side by side. This walking tour takes you along the Bergenhus fortress dating back to the Middle Ages with the old coronation hall and the tower of Rosenkranz.
Shortly after, reach Bryggen, a city composed of old Hanseatic merchant buildings which had been damaged in 1702, when a disastrous fire struck the area. After the fire, they were rebuilt to look as they had during the Middle Ages. The whole area is now protected and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guided tour will lead you up one of the narrow alleyways running between the rows of houses. Today, artists and craftsmen have moved in, and facing the harbour are restaurants and shops of various kinds. The Hanseates settled in Bergen in the middle of the 14th century. They had the monopoly on the trade with Northern Norway for nearly 300 years that was a barter trade: the Norwegians from the North part of the country brought their stock fish, dried cod, to Bergen and went back with grain, spices, textiles etc.
Discover St Mary's church from outside, the oldest stone building in town. In former days, it was called "the German church" because it was solely used by the Hanseatic merchants who have adorned the church over the centuries with several precious objects.
Thereafter, walk on to Schötstuene, a series of assembly rooms. The Schötstuene complex is comprised of four assembly rooms and two cookhouses, where the food was prepared and social life went on. You should not miss a visit to the kitchen, neither to the living quarters in the back!
Before returning to the harbour, you will visit the Bryggen museum, an archeological museum housing findings from the Middle Ages.

Mount Ulriken & Fantoft Stave Church
From the pier, board your local coach for a short drive to Ulriken cable car entrance.
From here, enjoy a five-minute ascent to the top of Mount Ulriken. The city of Bergen is proud of its cable car system, which ascends over 2,100 feet above the sea level in only few minutes. Its highest point is above the tree line, affording a 360-degree view. The view is breathtaking. On the top, refreshments and snacks are served while your guide give you a short brief. Then, you are free to go for a short hike, to take time for contemplation and photographs.
After descending back, get back to your local coach for a short transfer through the city, on the way to the new Fantoft Stave Church, rebuilt after the fire in 1992 that destroyed the old church from 1150. The new church is constructed exactly like the ones that were built in the Middle Ages, using timber from the Sognefjord area north of Bergen. Only 30 of these very typical churches remain nowadays in Norway, when they were at least 800 in the Middle Ages.
On your way back to the pier, enjoy a short city sightseeing.

Day 1 – Bergen
After disembarkation procedures are completed, you will be greeted at the port by our local representative.
You will board your vehicle and leave Bergen for Hardanger, about 1 hour and 15 minute-drive.
Just before arriving you will make a photo stop at Steinsdalsfossen, a spectacular sight and, what is more, you can walk behind the waterfall on the path leading up from the car park without even getting wet. Following the riverbank, the path goes behind the waterfall and then out to the vantage point on the other side. From here, you can admire Steinsdalsfossen and enjoy beautiful views. With its 50-metre drop, the waterfall has become a popular attraction.
Then at the Maritime Museum of Hardanger, the guided tour will take you to discover an atypical place that houses a boat restoration workshop, exhibitions, rope making workshops, of wrought iron, and everything related to local shipbuilding know-how.

During afternoon, you will learn all about Norwegian aquaculture in the beautiful Norwegian fjord, Hardangerfjord. You can see the floating salmon farm up close on a rubber boat. Hardanger Akvasenter is an open visitor centre for fish farming located in Øystese in Hardanger. Here you can learn all about Norwegian aquaculture and how runs the fish farms. You will be able to take a closer look at the fish farm on a rigid inflatable boat (RIB).
